alice.hatter - shoes by briannacherrygarcia alice.hatter - shoes by briannacherrygarcia
My second shoe project, Alice and Reginald (the Mad Hatter).

The same as my first pair [link] , they were done on plain canvas Vans. These took much longer than the first set, only because I put a lot more detail into them.

I also inlcuded a photo of my friend who requested them from me because the whole shoe art thing was his idea in the first place. :love: The shoes include all his favorite characters. Behind Hatter is the tea party, on the sides are the oysters, and on the back is Bill. Alice is in Tulgey Wood, with the hammerhead and pencil birds and the Cheshire Cat behind her and some tulips from the flower garden. On the sides are the Queen's rose garden and the corridor that Alice followed the White Rabbit into, and on the back is the King of Hearts (hooray!).

EDIT: Again, do NOT ask for a pair of shoes for yourself please! They are for my personal friends only! And I have not found a way to seal them yet, although I have received HUNDREDS of suggestions so I'm still looking into it.

Done with Prisma markers and Sakura Microperm pens

Do you seal these in any way so the marker doesn't come off? I did some shoes of my own and the first time I wore them the first drop of water smeared them. ;_;

Hi! i love these shoes!
I was wondering,
how did you start them off? did you just draw on the shoes with pencil or did you have to add a base coat of white?
thanks!

Drew everything in pencil right on the shoe, then colored them in with markers.

These are gorgeous! Your friends are so lucky to get shoes you've embellished. Vans should hire you to make designs to sell at Disneyland. I'd buy every pair.

They're plain ol' white Vans, and for each shoe I sketch out the pencil first, then add marker and ink.

I know that you can buy waterproof sealer for certain shoes, suede etc. Maybe try that as a sealer?

Also, your work is absolutely gorgeous! Great job!

hey why dont you try fixative on both the inside and the outside or waterproof transfer paper on top,(you know like on a t-shirt you can get the paper and special paints to do your own and then iron them onto anything.
love your work
