Ok, storytime!

So y'know Triton's Gardens at D*sneyland? It's an area in Fantasyland, where Ariel sits at her shell and has been greeting guests since 1996. Lovely place, ain't it?

Well it's gone. Gutted. RIPPED OUT.

This is how it currently looks. So why the reconstruction? Well Triton's Gardens is being transformed into Pixie Hollow, to make room for Tinkerbell and her fairy friends, all to promote the new Tinkerbell Movie coming out next month. The D*sney Fairies are their new cash cow, and these characters are expected to rake in at least $4 billion to the D*sney Company in the next year alone. I guess the bottom line is the Fairies are the new Princesses.

So what happened to Ariel? Well they stripped her of her fin, gave her some legs and a dress and stuck her in Princess Fantasy Faire, much to her dismay. Farewell to the mermaid. Now most of us will only be able to look at her from a distance in the parades.

The sad thing is that yes I am sad to see fish-Ariel go, but even worse, I think I may actually like this new fairy franchise. *ashamed*

They recreated a bigger, better version of Ariel's Grotto as part of the new Fantsyland adittion at Disney World. I don't know about Disneyland, but just thought I'd put that out there.

Yah I've been there, it's really beautiful. Sadly there's still nothing like that in California.

Ariel still has her tail in Fantasmic, and Mickey's Soundsational Parade.

I went to Disneyland for the first (and last) time on April, 2007, and I got to see from the distance Ariel on her shell, but when I approached to take a picture with her, that horrible woman with white shirt said "Sorry, she's going to get ready for the parade" and the shell started to turn around until Ariel disappeared.
The sad thing is, that was my last day at Disneyland (there's a thing about trips: three days and two nights at Disneyland), that night, after the lights show and all that, I was going to get back home. To another country.
So you're saying on 2008 she "lost her job". It's really sad; I really wanted to take a picture with her; I was like 9 when this happened. I thought I was going to take a pic the next time I went to the parks (as you can see, this time hasn't come yet).
I blame it on the horrible woman of the white shirt. And on the fairies... I don't even liked the movie!

I hate the new fairy franchise because its supposed to be based off the books and they did a half-assed job at it. They even replaced Raini with Silvermist. My favorite fairy! It's probably because she doesn't have wings so she doesn't count as a "real" fairy.

Funny, I thought Marvel was Disney's current cash-cow

It is. Note that this art was drawn in 2008.
