Dunno if it counts as mature but it's kinda gruesome. I love John Carpenter's The Thing (personal favorite horror movie of all time) and was one of the few fans who enjoyed the prequel that came out last year. The Edvard-Adam Splitface was my favorite alien creature.

:c reminds me of a movie I saw when I was a child. a man kidnapped these two people and sewed them togethere or something. He man also did experiments on others as wel.

I'm a fan of the original The Thing too. It's definitely high on my list of favorite horror movies. Slither is on that list too!

You know; in the behind the scenes extra; the actor said that he actually walked out of the room (or something to that effect) when they showed him the face melding bit. Apparently he couldn't stand to watch it.

Awesome pic! :horns:

Sweet Jumpping Jesus! This movie scared the skirt off me as a child! (Why I saw it as a child is still a subject of confusion between my parents and I) And this damn thing was the cause of it ALL! Even now, this picture scares me a bit.

I've watched both the original and the sequel multiple times over the last six months and the split-face scene still scares me everytime - what a completely horrible way to go (Everytime I scream at the TV for someone to flame the Edvard-thing before it gets poor Adam. Its one of the few Thing scenes that still gets to me, even with how many times I've watched it.).
I do like the prequel, but the original movie, my gods, the suspence! Not knowing who was really who and the rising tension with each passing moment. And the music... I'm hoping the main theme as I'm writing this.

This is exquisitely horrifying.
